  • Teeratrakul and Thelen receive national academic awards

    In a Wednesday release from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) office, ten Barton Community College student-athletes received NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Awards, formerly known as the NJCAA's Academic All-American award. The ten Cougars were amongst the NJCAA record 2,036 sophomore level student-athletes to receive the award.
  • Barton Women's Golf finishes in nation's top ten for second straight year

    For the second straight year the Barton Community College women's golf team finished in the nation's top ten wrapping up play Thursday at the NJCAA Women's Golf National Championship at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona. Moving into the tenth spot on Wednesday, the Lady Cougars played through windy conditions in the final round getting a clutch birdie on the final hole shooting a 353 to hold off Sandhills Community College by one stroke. The top ten finish capped a conference and region championship season and followed last season's school record ninth place while matching the accomplishment of the 2006 squad.
  • Lady Cougars improve twenty-three strokes taking over tenth spot at NJCAA Championship

    Improving twenty-three strokes from hits second day performance, the Barton Community College women's golf team shot a 341 in Wednesday's third round play at the NJCAA Women's Golf National Championship held at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona. The improvement moved the Lady Cougars up a slot in the team rankings to tenth place by six strokes leaving a another big effort on Thursday to make up a nineteen stroke deficit to match last year's ninth place finish.
  • Barton women’s golf team holds steady in eleventh place after second day of NJCAA National Championships

    The Region VI Champion Barton Community College women’s golf team held steady in Tuesday's second round play at the NJCAA Women’s Golf National Championship held at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona. Shooting a 361 to open the tournament, the Lady Cougars came in three strokes over Monday's score to fall further behind for 9th place but only two strokes out of 10th.

    The Region VI Champion Barton Community College women’s golf team began play today at the NJCAA Women’s Golf National Championship held at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona. Just like last season, the Lady Cougars ended the first day in eleventh place with a seventy-three over par 361 as three more days of competition to follow.
  • Ticket booked to nationals, Barton women’s golf wins third straight Region VI Championship; Lady Cougars with five top ten finishes

    Having swept all six conferences this season, it would have been easy for Barton Community College women’s golf team to prematurely celebrate a third straight trip to Nationals. Even with a thirty-five stroke lead after day one, the focused Lady Cougars widened the gap as everyone improved during Saturday’s final round at Hutchinson’s Carey Park Golf Course for a seventy-four stroke victory in winning its third straight Region VI Championship and earning an automatic team berth to the NJCAA Championships. Shaving fifteen strokes off the previous day’s eighteen hole score, Barton shot a 332 to finish with a 36-hole total of 679 to easily outdistance second place Dodge City Community College for the title.
  • Lady Cougar golf wins sixth straight conference meet, seventh on season; Teeratrakul rallies keeping streak intact

    The Barton Community College women’s golf team rolled to its sixth straight conference victory of the season firing a season low score cruising to a sixty-two stroke win in the final KJCCC meet of the regular season. The Lady Cougars held a thirty-six stroke lead after Sunday’s eighteen holes at Salina’s Municipal Golf course extending the lead during Monday’s final nine holes. The victory is the seventh of the season for Barton having picked up a non-conference win back in October and the eighth straight conference win dating back to last season. Barton fired a 482 for the lowest twenty-seven hole team total in Coach Doug Kaiser’s seventh season at the helm while Dodge City Community College finished second at 544.
  • Dominance continues, Barton women's golf run away with sixty-five stroke victory in Conference Meet No. 5

    The Barton Community College women’s golf team captured its fifth straight conference match of the season with a sixty-five stroke KJCCC Meet No. 5 victory. Held at StoneRidge Golf Club in Great Bend, Kansas, the Lady Cougars avenged a drubbing last season on their home course by increasing their lead by nineteen strokes on Tuesday’s final day nine holes. Barton ended with a team score of 504 while second place Dodge City Community College finished at 569 with Coffeyville Community College not able to post a team score due to player illness.
  • Lady Cougar golf assumes command on day one of home conference meet

    The Barton Community College women’s golf team has jumped out to a commanding forty-six stroke lead after the first eighteen holes of the KJCCC Meet No. 5 being held at StoneRidge Golf Club in Great Bend, Kansas. The Lady Cougars shot a team score of 331 through eighteen holes with six players in the top ten to lead second place Dodge City Community College’s 377 heading into Tuesday’s final nine hole round beginning at 9:00 a.m.
  • Barton women’s golf win fourth straight conference meet, secure third straight conference title

    With two remaining conference meets left to the season, the Barton Community College women’s golf team have the luxury of already claiming the conference championship as the Lady Cougars won their fourth straight conference meet this past Monday with a sixty-two stroke victory. Held at the Emporia Municipal Golf Course, Barton held a commanding thirty-nine stroke lead after day one’s eighteen holes before widening the gap on Monday’s final nine holes. Barton shot a team score of 517 to easily outdistance second place Colby Community College’s 579 and Dodge City Community College’s 589. Barton’s next competition will come on their home course as the Lady Cougars host Conference Meet No. 5 at Stoneridge Country Club Golf Course April 6-7.
  • Barton women’s golf wins fourth straight; Kim breaks Teeratrakul’s streak for individual title

    The Barton Community College women's golf team won its fourth straight tournament to complete their fall season by running away with title at the South Central Kansas Fall Invitational held at the Winfield Country Club. The Lady Cougars led by thirty-seven strokes after day one then extended their lead out to fifty-four strokes on Tuesday to finish with a 689. Host Southwestern College made a charge with the day’s second best round to finish behind the Lady Cougars with a 743.
  • Barton women’s golf and Teeratrakul win third straight conference meet, five Lady Cougars in top ten

    The Barton Community College women's golf team won its third straight tournament to complete the fall conference season with a forty-seven stroke victory Monday at the Coffeyville Country Club. Building a thirty-seven stroke lead after the first day’s eighteen holes, Barton increased their lead on the final nine by ten as five players finished in the field’s top ten. The Lady Cougars finished with a team score of 527 easily outdistancing second place Coffeyville Community College’s 574 and Dodge City Community College’s 608.
  • Lady Cougar golf rolls to conference victory, six Lady Cougars in top ten

    For the second straight Jayhawk Conference meet, the Barton Community College women's golf team won by sixty or more strokes as the Lady Cougars captured Conference Meet No. 2 held at Dodge City’s Mariah Hills Golf Course. Building a fourteen stroke lead after Sunday’s nine hole round, Barton dominated from start to finish to run away with the title by sixty-three strokes with a 511 total to surpass last year’s score at the same course by sixty strokes. Second place and host Dodge City Community College increased their Sunday five stroke lead over Coffeyville Community College to finish at 574 while the Red Ravens carded a 581.
  • Barton women’s golf dominates in season opener

    Continuing their dominance of the Jayhawk Conference the Barton Community College women's golf team began the 2014-15 season right where it left off from last season, in first place. Unlike last season when the Lady Cougars needed a comeback on the final day of the competition in the Conference Meet No. 1, Barton jumped out to a thirty-two stroke lead after the first day to cruise to a sixty point final margin Monday at Meadow Lake Golf Course in Colby, Kansas.
