Trailing teammate Hye Rin Kim by one stroke after the first eighteen, Natthakan Teeratrakul followed her 77 with an even par 35 on the final round surpassing Kim by a stroke. Being the lone player to defeat Teeratrakul this season coming in the South Central Kansas Fall Invitational, Kim's 76 gave her the lead but a 37 on the final day came up short in breaking up Teeratrakul's conference streak. Coffeyville Community College's Julia Dierker recovered from a tough 83 on the first day to shoot Monday's second low round of 36 to finish firmly in third place.
For the second straight meet six Lady Cougars finished in the top ten. Shooting an 86 in the opening round, Abbie Thelen slipped a spot to fifth in the standings with a final day 42 being overtaken by Dodge City's Tiara Diaz carding a 40 in the final nine. Madison Walden had the biggest jump in the standings following a 93 to leap up four spots with a 39 finishing in a sixth play tie with Colby Community College's Marissa Bland. Also slipping a bit on the second day, Madison Werth fell from her seventh place 90 to the ninth spot closing with a 46.
Competing as individuals, Lea Clubb cooled off from her opening round seventh place 90 with a 48 to finishing tenth while Presley Smith put together rounds of 105 and 56.
Barton will take a few weeks from competition before trying to claim its third straight Region VI Championships set for April 24-25 at Carey Park Golf Course in Hutchinson, Kansas.
