Barton women’s golf and Teeratrakul win third straight conference meet, five Lady Cougars in top ten
The Barton Community College women's golf team won its third straight tournament to complete the fall conference season with a forty-seven stroke victory Monday at the Coffeyville Country Club. Building a thirty-seven stroke lead after the first day’s eighteen holes, Barton increased their lead on the final nine by ten as five players finished in the field’s top ten. The Lady Cougars finished with a team score of 527 easily outdistancing second place Coffeyville Community College’s 574 and Dodge City Community College’s 608.

Natthakan Teeratrakul ran away with the individual title increasing a first day five stroke lead with a 79 to firing a one-under-par 35 on Monday to win by ten. The victory was Teeratrakul's third straight title this season as the sophomore keeps her school record fourth straight conference meet title streak alive dating back to last season.
Opening with an 86, Hye Rin Kim came up short in erasing her one-stroke deficit to Coffeyville's Julia Dierker as the freshman from South Korea shot a 46 to fall eight spots out from the second position.
Abbie Thelen made a second day charge up the leaderboard to finish tied for the fourth spot. Trailing by two after Sunday's 94, Thelen made a move up the leaderboard carding the third best Monday score of 43 to move up into a fourth place tie. Madison Walden followed her opening day 95 with a 50 to finish tied for eighth while Madison Werth, who competed as an individual, rounded out the top ten Barton finishers with rounds of 97 and 50 to finish in the tenth spot.
Other Barton golfers not making the top ten, Madison Krull rebounded from a 104 to finish strong with a 50 while Lea Clubb scored 106 on Sunday to struggle home with a 58 in the final round.
Barton will wrap up its fall portion of the schedule with the two-day Southwestern Invitational held October 20-21 in Winfield, Kansas.
