Barton women’s golf team in eleventh place after day one of NJCAA National Championships
The Region VI Champion Barton Community College women’s golf team began play today at the NJCAA Women’s Golf National Championship held at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona. Just like last season, the Lady Cougars ended the first day in eleventh place with a seventy-three over par 361 as three more days of competition to follow.

Reigning Region VI Champion Natthakan Teeratrakul leads Barton tied for 23rd overall firing a consisten 41-40 for an 81 while freshman Hye Rin Kim came in tied for 43rd place after posting a 41 on her first nine to finish with an 86. Abbie Thelen had a rough front nine 52 but bounced back shaving off seven strokes to finish in a tie with teammate Madison Walden at 97 for 79th place while Madison Werth posted a 109 for a 95th place tie.
Having the morning tee times on Monday, the Lady Cougars will have the early tee times on Tuesday beginning on the front nine at 1:30 p.m. Central Time.
