  • Schroeder leads Lady Cougars at Region VI Championships

    The Barton Community College women's cross country team competed Monday at the Region VI Championships held at the Westar/Prairie Ridge Park in Hutchinson, Kansas. Running shy of a team entry due to a last moment sickness forcing the withdrawal of a runner, four freshman Lady Cougars competed against eighty-eight competitors for the championship on the 5k course. Barton will next compete at the NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships November 9th at the Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
  • Women’s cross country concludes regular season

    The Barton Community College women's cross country team wrapped up the regular season this past Saturday at the Bethel College Invitational held in North Newton, Kansas. Recent wet weather made for sloppy field conditions as the Lady Cougars competed with thirty-six other runners on the 5k course. Next up for Barton will be the Region VI Championships held in Hutchinson, Kansas, on October 28th.
  • Women’s cross country winding down regular season with top personal times

    The Barton Community College women's cross country team competed this past weekend in the FHSU Tiger Open held in Victoria, Kansas. Competing among 168 runners, Barton had three freshmen all achieving personal bests in the 5k race. The Lady Cougars will have one final tune-up before the Region VI Championships competing in the Bethel Invitational October 18th at North Newton, Kansas.
  • Young Lady Cougars improve at Emporia State Invite

    As the season continues, so does the improvement of the Barton Community College women's cross country team. With three freshman runners competing among one hundred fifty-four participants at the Emporia State University Planet Sub Cross Country Invitational on Friday, the Lady Cougars shaved a combine six minutes off previous season’s best performances.
  • Injuries keep Lady Cougars from competing at HCC Invite

    Injuries continue to plaque the Barton Community College women's cross country team as no Cougar was able to complete this past Saturday at Blue Dragon Invitational in Hutchinson. Barton will have three weeks to mend and get ready for the Fort Hays Tiger Invitational on October 5th in Victoria, Kansas.
  • Lady Cougars open 2013 cross country season

    The Barton Community College women’s cross country team opened up the 2013 season Friday at the Colby Community College Invite. Not competing as a team, the Cougars had three runners compete in the twenty-seven athlete three-team event. Leading the Barton entries with a 19th place finish was Tabitha Kim, completing the 4k course in 20:06. Jenna Schroeder finished a minute behind at 21:07 in 23rd place with teammate Kaycee Niermeier finished in 24th place with a time of 21:21.
