The Barton Community College women's cross country team opened up the 2013 season Friday at the Colby Community College Invite. Not competing as a team, the Cougars had three runners compete in the twenty-seven athlete three-team event. Leading the Barton entries with a 19th place finish was Tabitha Kim, completing the 4k course in 20:06. Jenna Schroeder finished a minute behind at 21:07 in 23rd place with teammate Kaycee Niermeier finished in 24th place with a time of 21:21.
The Cougars will next compete at 10:00 a.m. next Saturday at the Blue Dragon Invitational held at the Westar Prairie Ridge Course in Hutchinson, KS.
