  • Cougar men battle tough competition at Region VI Championships

    The Barton Community College men's cross country team concluded the regular season this past Saturday at the Region VI Championships held at the Westar/Prairie Ridge Park in Hutchinson, Kansas. Competing against six teams within the nation’s top twenty-five poll, the Cougars finished twelfth as a team on the 8k course. Barton will next compete at the NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships November 9th at the Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
  • Cougar men wrap up regular season, set sights on Region VI

    The Barton Community College men's cross country team concluded the regular season this past Saturday at the Bethel College Invitational held in North Newton, Kansas. Recent wet weather made for sloppy field conditions as the Cougars finished 5th as a team on the 8k course. Next up for Barton will be the Region VI Championships held in Hutchinson, Kansas, on October 28th.
  • Cougar men come on strong at tough FHSU Tiger Open

    Moving up the ranks down the stretch, the Barton Community College men's cross country team finished 19th this past weekend at the competitive FHSU Tiger Open held in Victoria, Kansas. Posting season and personal bests among the 8k race, Barton competed among twenty-two teams and 226 runners. The Cougars will now get ready for their final tune-up before the Region VI Championships, competing in the Bethel Invitational October 18th at North Newton, Kansas.
  • Cougar cross country team mark improvements at Emporia State Invite

    Just like their female counterparts, the Barton Community College men's cross country team continues to improve with each meet of the season. Not competing as a team, three freshman runners took on one hundred sixty-eight other competitors Friday at the Emporia State University Planet Sub Cross Country Invitational.
  • Chavez again leads Cougars at HCC Invite

    Hampered with early season injuries like the women’s squad, only two Barton Community College men's cross country runners were able to complete this past Saturday at Blue Dragon Invitational in Hutchinson. Freshman and Great Bend native Chon Chavez led the Cougars finishing 44th out of ninety-four runners. Chavez completed the 8K course in a time of 30:18.3 while sophomore Tyler Lumpkin finished in 63rd place in a time of 31.40.2. Barton’s next meet will be October 5 in the Fort Hays Tiger Invitational held in Victoria, Kansas.
  • Freshman Chon Chavez leads Barton cross country in season opener

    The Barton Community College men's cross country team opened up its 2013 season Friday at the Colby Community College Invite. The Cougars finished in fourth place on the 5k course featuring thrity-five athletes.
