The Barton Community College men's cross country team opened up its 2013 season Friday at the Colby Community College Invite.  The Cougars finished in fourth place on the 5k course featuring thrity-five athletes.

Great Bend freshman Chon Chavez led the Cougars finishing in 15th place in a time of 16:47.  Sophomore Tyler Lumpkin finished in 17:17 to earn 22nd place.

Taking the 31st to 33rd spots were the freshmen trio of Zach Wilson (19:52), Genesis Rose (10:15), and Brady Holler (21:16).

The Cougars will compete at 10:30 a.m. next Saturday at the Blue Dragon Invitational held at the Westar Prairie Ridge Course in Hutchinson, KS.
