Cougar men wrap up regular season, set sights on Region VI
The Barton Community College men's cross country team concluded the regular season this past Saturday at the Bethel College Invitational held in North Newton, Kansas. Recent wet weather made for sloppy field conditions as the Cougars finished 5th as a team on the 8k course. Next up for Barton will be the Region VI Championships held in Hutchinson, Kansas, on October 28th.

Chon Chavez led the Cougars with a 10th place finish at 28:33.20 with fellow Great Bend native Genesis Rose coming in 36th with a time of 30:52.30. Competing in his first meet of the season, Newton native Adam Kelsey finished in 46th place with a time of 32:43.70. Zach Wilson clocked in at 48th place in 33:04.40 while Brady Holler was less than a minute later finishing 54th at 34:00.60.
As a team the Cougars finished 5th out of 7 teams averaging 31:50.84 with a total time of 2:39:14.20.
