Cougar cross country team mark improvements at Emporia State Invite

Just like their female counterparts, the Barton Community College men's cross country team continues to improve with each meet of the season.  Not competing as a team, three freshman runners took on one hundred sixty-eight other competitors Friday at the Emporia State University Planet Sub Cross Country Invitational.

Chon Chavez continues to lead the men's team for the third straight meet, finishing the 8k run a minute faster than previous bests crossing the line in 63rd place in a time of 29:04.  Genesis Rose, who also shaved time off his best time, finished in 141st place in 33:17 while Brady Holler placed 150th in 34:50.

The Cougars will next compete at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, October 12, at the Fort Hays State University Tiger Open held at the Sand Plum Nature Trail just outside of Victoria, Kansas.
