  • Mato wins another championship, Barton women 27th at Nationals

    The Barton Community College women’s cross country team finished the season Saturday coming in 27th at the 2014 NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championship held at the Shadow Hills Golf Course in Lubbock, Texas. Standout Lydia Mato became the fifth runner in Barton history to win the individual championship leading the Lady Cougars to an overall 27th nation finish.
  • Barton Cross Country Teams set for Nationals

    The Barton Community College cross country teams wrap up the season this Saturday at the 2014 NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championship in Lubbock, Texas. Held at the Shadow Hills Golf Course, the championship meet is slated to begin at 10:00 a.m. for the women's 5K race, followed by the men’s 8k at 11:00 a.m.
  • Mato wins again, Lady Cougars take 8th at Region VI Championships

    The Barton Community College women’s cross country team finished 8th at a very tough Region VI Championships today held at the Colby Country Club. In what is one of the nation’s top regions, the meet had three teams ranked in the NJCAA Top 10 and six overall in the Top 25. Barton’s finish was also good for 6th in the rugged Jayhawk West division as the Cougars finished the 5k race in 1:46:03 for an average of 21:12.60.
  • Barton men takes second, women sixth at Ollie Isom Invitational

    Returning to NJCAA level competition on Friday, the Barton Community College men’s team took home a second place finish with the women taking sixth at the Ollie Isom Invitational held at the Wartick Farm in El Dorado, Kansas. In less than ideal conditions for a race and competing without its No. 2 and 3 runners, the men finished the 5k race behind host Butler Community College while the women ran without their No. 1 runner in their 4k length course.
  • Barton Cross Country competes at prestigious Chile Pepper Festival

    Taking on some of the best cross country competition in the nation, members of the Barton Community College teams competed this past Saturday at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival hosted by the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Lady Cougars had three entries in the 5k race while the Cougar men also just entered three in the 8k event as the teams competed against runners from over 80 colleges at all Division levels.
  • Mato wins College Division and second overall at Woody Greeno Invite

    The shorthanded No. 24 ranked Barton Community College women's cross country team competed this past Saturday in the college division of the Woody Greeno Invitational co-hosted by the University of Nebraska and Nebraska Wesleyan University. Having just four runners compete in the event, the Lady Cougars competed against 134 other competitors averaging 7:77.6 per mile in the 6k race.
  • Nationally ranked Barton Cross Country teams head to Nebraska for Woody Greeno Invite

    The Barton Community College cross country teams will travel to Lincoln, Nebraska, for Saturday’s Woody Greeno Invitational co-hosted by the University of Nebraska and Nebraska Wesleyan University. The No. 24 ranked Lady Cougars will take to the 6k course at Pioneers Park beginning at 10:00 a.m. while the No. 17 Cougar men will start their 8k race at 10:45 a.m.
  • Mato stands up to the competition, No. 8 Lady Cougars finish 9th at J.K. Gold Classic

    The No. 8 ranked Barton Community College women's cross country team finished ninth overall Saturday in the small college division of the 66th Annual JK Gold Classic held in Augusta, Kansas. With a total of 116 competitors in the two team division 4k race, the Lady Cougars finished fourth among fellow NJCAA competitors in a total time of 1:25.48.
  • No. 8 Lady Cougars set for J.K. Gold Classic

    The Barton Community College women's cross country team will compete at their first meet in recent memory as a national ranked team as the Lady Cougars travel to Augusta, Kansas, on Saturday to compete at the 66th Annual J.K. Gold Classic hosted by Wichita State University. The Lady Cougars, who checked in at No. 8 in the recently released NJCAA Division I poll, placed three runners in the top ten two weeks ago at the Kings Sandwich Classic in Iola, Kansas.

    The new look Barton Community College women's cross country team began the 2014 season Friday with solid results at the Kings Sandwich Classic in Iola, Kansas. Hosted by Allen Community College, the Lady Cougars placed three runners in the top ten as the team of first-year runners made their mark in collegiate running.
