The nationally ranked Barton Community College men’s and women's golf teams battled the elements and the field in the fall season finale to sweep Monday’s Barton Invitational held at Great Bend’s Stoneridge County Club.

The Barton Community College women's golf team made a final round run for a third place finish at the nationally ranked packed field in the TJC Fall Invitational held Monday and Tuesday in Tyler, Texas. The No. 10 ranked Lady Cougars opened up the first round at Pine Springs Golf Course with a 342 team score before closing the final round with a 329 to move up a spot in the standings to third at 95-over par 671 in the six team tournament featuring five in the nation’s top twenty poll. Host and No. 5 ranked Tyler Junior College took the crown with a 48-over 624 while No. 6 ranked Murray State College finished runner-up fifteen strokes ahead of the Lady Cougars at 70-over 646.

Barton women capture Central Kansas Golf Classic #GoBarton

The Barton Community College women's golf team captured the weather shortened Central Kansas Classic today held the past two days at McPherson’s Turkey Creek Golf Course. The Lady Cougars carded a 344 during Monday’s 15-25mph decreasing temperature afternoon, returning to the course on Tuesday to face 40 degree temperature as rain moved in to force the conclusion and wipe-out after eleven holes played. With Monday’s scorecard the official result, Barton had four individuals in the top eight in winning the title by eighteen strokes over runner-up Bethany College with the Lady Cougars’ Vilma Efraimsson capturing the individual title over teammate Mutita Booranakunamanee.

Barton women with final day charge places third at KWU Fall Invite #GoBarton

The Barton Community College women's golf team made a final day charge Tuesday at the Kansas Wesleyan University Fall Invitational to finish third in the nine team tournament. Concluding Monday’s round at the Salina Country Club with a 357 and in fifth place, the Lady Cougars shaved off twenty-one strokes for a 336 to catapult in the standings with three players finishing in the top fifteen of the forty-six player field.

Lady Cougar golf team opens 2017 season with second place finish, sophomores post collegiate best rounds #GoBarton

The Barton Community College women's golf team opened up its 2017-18 season the last couple of days in Ottawa, Kansas, placing second at the Ottawa Invitational with four players among the top twenty. Taking on seven four-year schools along with Region VI member Coffeyville, the Lady Cougars finished eighteen strokes behind Kansas Wesleyan University in a combined 80-over par 656 with consistent 327 and 329 round scores in the two rounds at Eagle Bend Golf Course.
