The Barton Community College women's basketball team rolled through three quarters of Saturday afternoon's 84-44 victory over Pratt Community College to wrap up the final home game appearance of the fall portion of the schedule.

Chalking up their 8th straight victory in the series, the Cougars improve to 5-2 in the KJCCC and receiving votes in the latest national poll moving to 11-2 on the season. Pratt suffers its first defeat in three straight games, falling to 3-4 in league and 8-4 overall.

Barton closes up the fall slate Monday evening on the road at 23rd ranked Butler Community College in a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.

Shaking off a 25% shooting first quarter, Barton shot nearly 54% the remaining thirty minutes while defensively outrebounding the Beavers by twenty-one and holding the Region's second highest scoring team to 35 points below their average for the Cougars' second straight game holding its opponent under 44 points.

All eleven suited Cougars scored in the contest, five reaching double figures. Brennan Kirchhoff led the starting rotation with 14 points and canning 4-of-4 from beyond the arc in 23 minutes of court time. Jenny Nkem Womsi was once again dominant on the boards, grabbing seven of her 17 rebounds on the offensive end while pouring in 13 points for her 8th double-double of the year and coming up with a career high 6 steals. Morgan Meyers led the distribution with 7 assists and added 10 points.

Barton also got 38 points off the bench 14 from Alissa Heskamp and 12 from Lili Shubert.

Shubert ignited the Cougars in the second quarter, taking a 14-13 Barton lead and tacking on a pair of treys and a perfect trip to the free throw line for a personal 8-0 run. Following a Pratt bucket, the Cougars went on another seven point spurt highlighted by Kirchhoff's triple for a 15-2 stretch in a four minute span for a 29-15 home team advantage.

Kirchhoff would bury her third trey of the half with Womsi following with a bucket leading a five point closeout for a 38-22 lead to the locker room.

Heskamp's lone triple of the game kick started a 9-0 run pushing the margin to 55-26 midway through the quarter with the lead growing to thirty a minute later following a Shubert bucket and Quezia Bertoni's short jumper.

Pratt was held to twelve points or less in each of the four quarters, Princess Anderson accounting for the final four points of the third then added a pair of free throws to begin the fourth for her 20th point.

It would be the last scoring for Anderson on the night as the leading scorer in Region VI and the Beavers went scoreless for the next three minutes as Barton's thirteen straight doubled up the deficit at 72-35.

Following four straight by the Beavers, Barton continued the burial taking the next twelve points over the next three minutes with reserves Racheal Emmanuel, McKenna Vogl, and Grace John combining for eight of the points pushing the margin to its larges of forty-five points.

Anderson's 20 points led Pratt in scoring with Macy Hanzlick and Isis Sanders next in line with six points.
