Returning to the pitch after a 15-day layoff, the Barton Community College men's soccer team dropped a gutwretching defeat Saturday evening falling 1-0 at Dodge City Community.
The loss dampens the Cougars' hopes of hosting a first round postseason game falling to third place in the Jayhawk West standings at 4-4-0 and slipping to 7-6-0 overall while the Conquistadors overtake second place with a 5-4-0 conference mark and 6-5-2 overall record.
Barton will return home Wednesday afternoon for a 3:00 p.m. kick in its' final home regular season match against Garden City Community College before concluding the regular season on the road next Saturday at #5 Cowley College.
Dodge City got the lone goal in the 71st-minute as a backdoor cross found the unmarked Ryota Ishizuka capitalizing on a far post strike beating goalkeeper Felipe Ramos.
