Barton Soccer with sixth shutout of season in 2-0 victory at Northwest Tech
The defensive backline of the Barton Community College men’s soccer team recorded another shutout while getting a goal in each half for a 2-0 regional win Saturday afternoon at Northwest Kansas Technical College in Goodland. Since dropping two in a row, the focused Cougars posted its second straight shutout and sixth of the season with twin 2-0 victories. Barton improves to 5-3 in region play and 7-3 on the season while dropping to Northwest Tech to 1-5-1 and 2-8-2. The Cougars will next play host to Garden City Community College on Monday, a Broncbuster team Barton earned a hard fought 2-0 victory over just five days ago in Garden City. Kick off at the Cougar Soccer Complex set for 3:00 p.m.

Lucas Alves gave Barton it's lone first half goal converting a penalty kick with 29:25 on the clock for his fifth goal of the year and third in last two games.
Jose Escobedo put the dagger in the Mavericks with 9:22 remaining taking Benjamin Zamora's cross and depositing to the back of the nets for his third of the season.
