In a Wednesday release from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) office, ten Barton Community College student-athletes received NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Awards, formerly known as the NJCAA's Academic All-American award. The ten Cougars were amongst the NJCAA record 2,036 sophomore level student-athletes to receive the award.

Banging the flagstick on his approach to the final hole, Landon Fox of the Barton Community College men's golf team closed out his Cougar golf career with a birdie wrapping up the 2015 NJCAA Division I Men's National Championship held at Sand Creek Station in Newton, Kansas. The sophomore from Winfield, Kansas, carded a +5 77 moving up two slots to a 61st place tie among the ninety-seven entries.

Putting together his best round of the 2015 NJCAA Division I Men's National Championship, Landon Fox of the Barton Community College men's golf team fired a +3 75 Thursday in third round action at Newton's Sand Creek Station. Fox had four bogeys and one birdie carding a 38 on the opening front nine closing with a 37 matching last year's best round in the national championship while moving up six spots in the individual standings to 63rd.

It was a grind it out soggy day for the Landon Fox of the Barton Community College men's golf team in the second day of competition at the 2015 NJCAA Division I Men's National Championship at Sand Creek Station in Newton, Kansas. Teeing off in the afternoon on the back nine, Fox carded a pair of 40's for a +8 80 moving up one spot to 69th place.

Landon Fox began play today as the lone entry from the Barton Community College men’s golf team in the 2015 NJCAA Division I Men’s National Championship at Sand Creek Station in Newton, Kansas. Teeing off in one of the early times, Fox carded a 39 and 40 to finish the opening round with a +7 79 placing in a 70th place tie among ninety-six other golfers.

It was a bittersweet day for the Barton Community College men's golf team as the Cougars wrapped up play Wednesday in the Region VI and District III Championships held April 27-28 at Lawrence’s Alvamar Golf Course. The Cougars placed sixth in the Championships missing qualifying as a team for the national championships and thus ended the 2015 season but did have an individual reach the goal of moving on as sophomore Landon Fox’s eighth place finish earned a national bid spot.

The Barton Community College men's golf team improved each round of the KJCCC Championship finishing fifth concluding the two-day thirty-six hole meet at Newton’s Sand Creek Station Golf Course. Barton opened play Monday with a 308 followed by a 302 afternoon round to end the first day just seven strokes out of first place but fifth in the tight knit standings. The Cougars started slow in the Tuesday’s final round but heated up to post the day’s third best round in firing a 298 for the first sub-300 in recent Cougar golf history. Shooting a three round total of 908, Barton finished 44-over for the tournament as nine strokes separated the top five teams. The Cougars will next compete in the Region VI and District III Championships April 26-28 at Lawrence’s Alvamar Golf Course.

The No. 19 ranked Barton Community College men's golf team concluded the fall portion of their schedule Tuesday finishing third at the South Central Kansas Fall Invitational held at the Winfield Country Club. After posting a third best 302 on the opening day, the Cougars slipped a little on the final day to post a 311 but held on to share third place with fellow Jayhawk Conference member Kansas City Kansas Community at 613. Host Southwestern College jumped out to a nine stroke opening day lead to record a final 586 to hold off Hutchinson Community College’s 592.

The Barton Community College men's golf team finished third in the eleven team Warrior Invitational held earlier this week at Hutchinson’s Carey Park Golf Course. The Cougars held the first day lead by five strokes but despite improving on second rounds couldn’t hold off the charges of Bethany College and Ottawa University on Tuesday’s final eighteen holes. Barton finished +33 as a team scoring 601 to finish five behind Bethany and just two out from second place Ottawa.

Coming off a season the Cougars reached the NJCAA National Championships for the first time since 2006, the Barton Community College men's golf team began the 2014-15 season with a solid second place finish at the Ottawa Invitational. Held Monday and Tuesday, the 36 hole tournament at Lawrence’s Eagle Bend Golf Course featured seven four-year universities and another community college. Trailing by one and tied for second after the first round, Barton couldn’t hold off a second charge by Baker University to settle for the second place finish just two strokes off the lead.
