Barton eliminated after losing to Pratt
The Barton County
 Community College baseball team finished its season after being eliminated by Pratt on the second day of the Jayhawk Conference Western Sub Regional tournament. The Cougars lost the game 12-5 to the Beavers. Three Barton pitchers allowed 15 hits, while the defense had four errors in the loss. 

The Cougars finished with a 32-22 overall record and 20-12 in the Jayhawk West conference, finishing third in the conference. Barton has finished with at least 30 wins over the past three seasons.



Highlights
Pratt had Barton down early as the Beavers put together a nine-run third to take a 10-0 lead. The Cougars came back in the bottom of the third with four runs of their own.

Patrick Wallis started the inning with a single, followed by a Jerry Cook double, putting men on second and third. Wallis scored on a ground out by Steve Elson to score the Cougars first run. Leadoff hitter Josh Schaub singled, bringing Cook in to score as the Cougars began to chip away at the Beavers lead. 

After Glenn Jackson reached on a feilder's choice, Jeff Christy walked and the Cougars had men on first and third with two outs. Michael Roberts then doubled both Jackson and Christy in, cutting the lead to 10-4. 

Barton struck again in the bottom of the sixth when T.J. Liles lead off the inning with solo home run, but were unable to score any more runs during the inning. 

The Beavers sealed the win in the top of the seventh, scoring two more runs giving them a 12-5 lead. In the Cougars last at-bat, Elson led of with double but the top of the line up was not able to manage another hit ending the Cougars season with a 12-5 loss.
