Kylie Smith is in her second year with Barton’s sports medicine program as Assistant Athletic Trainer with primary responsibilities including taking care of the cheer, cross country, women's basketball, women's soccer, outdoor track and field, and golf programs. 

A native of Flagstaff, Arizona, the 2011 high school graduate played four years of collegiate soccer as goalkeeper beginning at Mesa Community College before her path led to Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas.

Graduating from Sterling in December of 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training Degree, Smith earned her Board of Certification in April of 2017. Going on to earn her Master of Science degree in Health and Human Performance from Fort Hays State University in July of 2019, Smith doubled up her workload by serving as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for Sterling High/Jr. School during that same time frame.

Smith began her professional career as the Interim Head Athletic Trainer from August 2019 to February 2020 at Pratt Community College. Moving on to Central Kansas Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Great Bend, Smith returned to Sterling High School taking its Head Athletic Trainer position prior to coming to Barton.

The former Kylie Dean, Smith is married to Hoisington native and former Barton tennis player Ethan Smith (’11-13).
