Jonathon Lovercamp, a native of Lockwood, MO, begins his first year as Barton’s assistant athletic trainer, coming from Kansas State University where he worked with the Equestrian team for one year.

Lovercamp completed an internship at Lamar University in 2011 while working with the football team and helping with the M & W Tennis and Golf teams.

A Fall 2009 Sterling College graduate, Lovercamp won the Warrior Award for Team Leadership as a member of the football team. He returned to Sterling during the Fall 2012 semester to prepare for, and successfully complete, the NATA’s Board of Certification exam.

Following his graduation at Sterling, Lovercamp completed an Internship at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports in 2010, covering everything from soccer to gymnasts and wrestling to baton twirling.

This past summer, Lovercamp completed his 7th year of working Cheer and Dance Camps and Events with Varsity. The highlights include covering the Philadelphia Thanksgiving day parade in 2011 and NYC Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade in 2012, working all National’s/Championship events at Disney in 2013 (several showcased on ESPN), winning the Veteran of the Year and Raving Fan Awards in 2013, and getting selected to cover the London NYE parade in 2014.
