Barton Women's Cross Country opens postseason action at the Region VI Championships; Behring clocks new personal best #GoBarton

Barton Women's Cross Country at the Region VI Championships

Off and running, the Barton Community College women's cross country team began postseason competition Friday morning competing in the Region VI Championships held at Hutchinson's Fun Valley.  

Fielding just four runners and unable to compete as a team sophomore Karina Herrera led the Cougar entries conducting the 45th fastest time of 21:22.17 in the field of 77 competitors.

Competing as a dual sport athlete on Friday, Koe Schultz began her day on the land clocking a 22:15.90 time finishing 54th before heading to Haysville and diving into the pool as the Barton swimming team opened a two-day event at the Kansas Collegiate Showcase.

Abigail Behring had the biggest improvements on the squad Friday shaving 24-seconds off her prior personal best stoppage crossing the line 63rd with a stoppage of 22:59.09.

Rounding out the field of Cougars was Karina Estrada's 68th finish with a time of 24:57.51.

Barton will conclude the season November 12th at the NJCAA Cross Country Championships held at the Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida.
