The Barton Community College cross country teams concluded the season this past Saturday in Winfield at the 2018 Region VI Championships.

The Cougars didn't field full teams on either of the women or men's squads with 83 entries in the 5k women's race with 96 running the 8k Kansas Veteran's Home course on the men's side.

Cadeebra Calcote led the women with a 40th place finish at 20:53.19 while Shanique Masters was one spot and three seconds behind at 20:56.09. Maurina Prieto crossed in 26:10.05 for 78th place with Kieora Nichols rounding out the squad in 29:31.28 to place 83rd.

Three Cougars were entered with Tallan James matching Calcote's 40th place in clocking a 27:14.58 time. Nathan Hood placed 67th in 29:17.40 with Shadrack Korir's time placing 79th.
