Lady Cougar cross country team places 13th at FHSU Tiger Open #GoBarton
The Barton Community College women's cross country team wrapped up its regular season with a 13th placing today in the Fort Hays State University Tiger Open. Delayed thirty minutes due to heavy rains Friday night, the five Lady Cougar runners were among the 157 entries and fifteen team 5k Black Race held at Victoria’s wet and muddy Sand Plum Nature Trail.

Mirena Goncalves once again led the Lady Cougars placing 9th with a time of 19:44.9, a minute and a half slower than last year's perfect conditions. Freshman Cadeebra Calcote crossed second on the squad in a time of 120:39.3 to finish 30th overall.
Rounding out the Barton entries, Jada Whiterock crossed in 27:55.5 for 155th, Olivian Jackson in 156th at 28:32.6, and Tia Steward placed 157th in 29:10.8.
The Lady Cougars next competition will come October 30 at the Region VI Championships in Garden City, Kansas.
