Barton's Reyes earns conference Offensive Player of the Week honors #GoBarton

Phoebe Reyes Week 6 KJCCC Player of the Week

Phoebe Reyes of the 20th ranked Barton Community College volleyball team has been named the Week 6 KJCCC Offensive Player of the Week.

The freshman outside hitter led the Cougars to a pair of conference sweeps last week to stay atop the near mid-way point of the Jayhawk race and help Barton back into the national polls.

Hitting .333 on the week, Reyes averaged 4.17 kills per set with just six errors in 57 swings to lead Barton to its fourth straight sweep of a conference opponent.

Having 10 kills Wednesday at Butler and 15 most recently Saturday hosting Colby, Reyes has reached double figure kills to record her 8th and 9th double-digit kill total in three-set matches.

Now 6-1 in conference play and 16-3 overall, a battle for the top spot concluding the first swing around the conference slate looms tonight in a trip to fellow leader Hutchinson Community College (6-1, 15-7) for a 6:00 p.m. serve at the Sports Arena.

The award is the just the second of the season for the Barton squad as Reyes joins Kassidy Nixon's week three distinction.
