Barton Volleyball 2022-23 AVCA Academic honors

The Barton Community College volleyball program received distinguished Honor Roll academic recognition for their 2022-23 classroom achievement as announced by the United State Marine Corps (USMC) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

Accumulating a team 3.79 GPA, the Cougars ranked 6th nationally out of 138 NJCAA teams achieving a 3.0 or better GPA.

A national classroom champion four of the previous six years, this past season's Cougars had fourteen of its sixteen member squad achieving a 3.60 GPA or better including a Department high eight earning a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, AVCA honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average.

The award completed the fourth straight year under former Head Coach Alan Segal earning AVCA Honor Roll distinction representing being among eight teams in the top 20% of the NJCAA. The high level academic achievement is the 6th overall for the program and the 15th time receiving AVCA recognition in the classroom.
