A pair of wins in consecutive days extends the Barton Community College volleyball team's streak to nine straight.

Thursday the Cougars traveled to Independence Community College, defeating the Pirates in straight sets 25-10, 25-16, and 25-13. Having a short turnaround with a 6:00 p.m. home match against Colby Community College, Barton easily won the first set 25-12 before taking the foot off the pedal, winning the second 25-23 but dropping the third 25-17, putting the match away with a 25-20 victory.

Barton, atop the conference standings at 12-1 and 20-3 on the season, will close out the regular season this week with three matches, a Monday road contest to Colby followed by Thursday's trip to Dodge City. The Cougars conclude the week with the season finale in what could possibly have conference title implications in hosting Seward County. First serve slated for 6:30 p.m. for each of the three contests.
