A shorthanded Barton Community College volleyball squad made short work Wednesday night at Garden City Community College, sweeping the Broncbusters 25-21, 25-13, and 25-16.

The victory keeps the Cougars in third place of the Jayhawk West at 4-2 and 13-8 on year while Garden City slides to 3-4 in conference play and 5-19 on season.

Rayanne de Oliveira's twelve kills of twenty-two swings for a .409 attack percentage led the Cougars as the team chalked up a .275 attack with just eleven errors. Oliveira also accounted for three blocks on the night in a solid front line performance while Karina de Oliveira captained the defensive line with twenty-one digs as Eduarda Souza recorded eighteen.

Barton's next action will be this weekend in hosting four other teams in the Barton Classic at the Barton Gym. The Cougars will play two matches each day, beginning on Friday at 2:00 p.m. followed a match later at approximately 6:00 p.m. versus No. 8 ranked Iowa Western Community College. Saturday's first Cougar match is at noon versus Division II No. 12 Cloud County Community College with the weekend's wrap up slated for 6:00 p.m. taking on Pratt Community College in a Jayhawk Conference matchup.

Action begins at 10:00 a.m. each day with free admission throughout the weekend, as well as, video streaming of all ten matches on the Barton Sports Network.
