Cougar Volleyball drops epic five-set battle in Dodge City

The Barton Community College volleyball team failed to convert six match points Wednesday night in Dodge City leading to the Cougars falling in five sets to Dodge City Community College.  After taking the first set by a marathon 29-27 score, the Cougars dropped the next two 20-25 and 21-25 before capturing the fourth 25-22 to even the match.  Owning a four point lead for most of the final set including a 14-10 margin, Barton couldn't get the kill they needed in eventually losing 21-19.   The loss is the first for the Cougars in the 2016 season dropping to 6-1 overall and 1-1 in Jayhawk Conference play while Dodge City opens conference play with the victory improving to 3-3 on the season.   Next up for Barton will be their second road test of the year as the Cougars travel to Highland, Kansas, for a four-match weekend beginning on Friday in the Highland Invitational.
