9th ranked Barton women's tennis goes down to No. 1 Cowley #GoBarton

The 9th ranked Barton Community College women's tennis team dropped its conference opener Saturday 9-0 to top ranked Cowley College.

Dealing with the absence of its No. 2 player, the outcome wasn't affected but the competitiveness against the Tigers was as last year's national runner-ups dominated the match from top to bottom.

The Cougars drop to 6-2 on the year while Cowley improves to 10-4 including 4-0 against junior college competition.

Barton looks to regroup on Thursday in its second straight home conference dual held at the Shannon Schartz Tennis Courts in Veterans Memorial Park against 5th ranked Seward County Community College. First serve in doubles action slated for 1:00 p.m. followed by singles play.
