The Barton Community College women's tennis team chalked up its second straight blanking on the court in a 9-0 Thursday victory at Kansas Wesleyan University.

In the Cougars sweep of the doubles matches, the No. 2 tandem of Andjela Mrvaljevic and Andrea Pulido recorded a 6-0 clean slate victory while the other two matches were decided on 6-3 wins by No. 1 duo of Luciana Braga/Carmen Lyons and the No. 3 grouping of Ana Vasilis/Ana Alice Tosetto.

Just two of the singles matches at the Salina Tennis Center were competitive on the scoreboard with the final three tangles of Mrvaljevic (4), Vasilis (5), and Tosettto (6) each won by straight set 6-0 scores.

Lyons moved up a spot on the singles pole to the No. 3 slot to pull out a 10-3 third frame victory after dropping the first set 6-4 and firing back with a 6-3 win.

Pulido also played up to the No. 2 spot but prevailed in straight sets by 6-3 and 6-4 scores.

The Cougars top player Braga held steady in the No. 1 slot with a decisive 6-0, 6-2 victory.

Barton has the weekend off before traveling to Plano, Texas, next Thursday for three days of competition at the Collin College Super Six/Bash.
