Barton women's tennis dominates dual at Bethel College #GoBarton

The Barton Community College women's tennis team made a Tuesday trip to North Newton returning with a 9-0 victory at Bethel College.

The Cougars began the dual at the Ward Tennis Center by sweeping doubles action led by the 6-0 blanking from the No. 3 tandem of Ana Vasilis and Ana Alice Tosetto. The No. 1 squad of Luciana Braga and Carmen Lyons won 6-2 while the No. 3 group of Andjela Mrvaljevic and Andrea Pulido was on the top side of a competitive 6-4 score.

Moving on to singles play, the Cougars only allowed the Threshers, picked 3rd in the KCAC women's tennis preseason coaches poll, to reach four game wins in just two of the six matches.

Braga (1), Mrvaljevic (2), Lyons (4), and Vasilis (5) each won their singles by not dropping any more than three games within each set while Pulido (3) and Tosetto (6) each prevailed by 6-3, 6-4 scores.

Barton has a short rest before traveling to Salina on Thursday for a 2:00 p.m. first serve at Kansas Wesleyan University.
