Aided by a stiff south breeze, a mid-opening half shaped corner kick goal provided Wednesday evening's lone goal in Arkansas City as the Barton Community College women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at 14th ranked Cowley College.
Concluding a tough stretch of three games against ranked opponents, Barton falls 1-3-2 in league play and 3-3-2 overall while Cowley improves to 4-2 in league and overall.
The Cougars will next host Garden City Community College on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. to kick-off a four-game conference foe homestand.
Cowley picked up the game winner 20:33 left in the opening stanza on a corner kick as Evellyn Borges' launch from the corner set piece rode the 20mph south wind over the assembly of competitors just inside the upper-90 far post.
