The 17th ranked Barton Community College women's soccer team put the final touches on their regular season Tuesday in clinching sole possession of the Jayhawk West title with a 4-0 victory over Johnson County Community College.

Having notched Head Coach Ousmane Camara's program most two conference titles in its 2-0 win over Hutchinson the previous time on the pitch, Tuesday's win leaves the Cougars alone atop the standings at 11-2 and 15-3 on the year. Despite the loss, Johnson County remains in third place of the East Division at 5-8 in dropping to 8-10 overall.

Next up for the Cougars is a home first round playoff game at 1:00 p.m. Saturday hosting Kansas City Kansas Community College. The victor will then advance to the November 3rd semifinal round of the Region VI/Plains District Tournament held at Wichita's Stryker Sports Complex.

Following a scoreless first half seeing Johnson County outshooting Barton 6-3, the Cougars went on a second half attack reversing the stat sheet to a 17-3 advantage.

It took just 4:23 into the final forty-five to produce the game winner as Nina Norshie took over registering with two quick goals and securing her 9th hat-trick or more during the season in a nineteen minute timeframe.

Norshie netted her first in what would become the game winner beating two Cavalier defenders before striking far post. Forty-four seconds later Ivanna Faria's pass into the box got past a Cavalier defender leaving Norshie 1v1 for another far post strike. Rin Sato's through ball leading to her team most 11th assist, moving into the top ten single season of setups, led Norshie into the box eighteen minutes later as the chip past the keeper pushed the lead to three with 21:35 left.

The trio of goals pushed Norshie's nation top mark to 40 goals and 85 total points, two net shakers shy of a program second most in one season while moving into 3rd all-time in single season points scored.

Sato put the final touches on the victory with 8:19 remaining, settling Hinano Nakagawa's midfield pass in launching a 25-yard strike to the upper-90 for her fourth goal of the year and helping Nakagawa move into second most assists on the squad with her 9th of the year.

The Cougars sent a trio of keepers to tend the pipes, Nia Baker stood in goal with two saves within the first 52:32, Raianny Lopes' field time for 29:09, and Ashley Melendez coming up with a save during the final 8:19.
