#16 Barton plays to scoreless draw at Hutchinson #GoBarton

The Barton Community College women's soccer team played to a double overtime scoreless draw at Hutchinson Community College on Wednesday night. The result is the third time in the last four years that the two teams have played to a tie and marks the third scoreless draw over the past four seasons' for the Cougars with the prior two coming in the 2017 season against State Fair Community College and Dodge City Community College.

Jumping into the national polls on Monday, the 16th ranked Cougars move their conference mark to 7-1-1 in the Jayhawk and season record to 10-1-1 while the Blue Dragons go to 3-4-1 in KJCCC play and 4-4-1 overall.

Barton will return home on Saturday setting up a potential conference title showdown as the 15th ranked Butler Community College Grizzlies come to the Cougar Soccer Complex for a 12:00 p.m. kick-off. The contest features a rematch of last season's Region VI Championship game, as the Cougars will look for revenge after falling on the short end 3-1.

Despite being outshot 20-15, Barton held a 6-4 advantage in shots on frame but both goalkeepers and defensive back lines kept the sheets clean.

Reigning NJCAA goalkeeper of the week Nia Baker extended her scoreless minute's streak to 358:30 minutes. Barton's shutout streak stretched to four straight games while the Cougar defense pushed its' last denial of goal streak to 412:37 minutes dating back to 13:37 left in second half action of the 3-2 double-overtime victory at Johnson County Community College on September 18.
