Barton Women's Soccer celebrates Seulgi Lee's goal against #16 Cowley on 9/29/21

Seulgi Lee sent home the game-winner in the 81st minute Wednesday afternoon at the Barton Soccer Complex as the Barton Community College women's soccer team knocked off 16th ranked Cowley College 1-0.

Receiving votes in the latest national poll, the Cougars improve their conference mark to 7-1-0 and season record to 10-1-0 while the Tigers suffer their first loss of the season dropping to 5-1-0 in league play and 6-1-1 on the year.

Winners in seven straight contests, Barton will look to extend the streak on the road Wednesday evening in Hutchinson with a 6:00 p.m. first kick from the Salthawk Sports Complex. The contest begins the second trip around the conference slate as the Cougars earned a 2-1 victory over the Blue Dragons back on September 1.

Despite facing an 11-5 shot deferential the Barton back line remained stout while receiving some assistance from the crossbar in the 64th-minute as Cowley's Leticia Belloni's strike sprang off the crossbar keeping the contest scoreless.

Lee's fifth game winner of the season came with 9:45 left on the clock as the second team All-American guided a perfect strike off a 40-yard free kick clipping off a Cowley defender landing in the back center of the net for her sixth tally of the season.

Reigning KJCCC Goalkeeper of the Week, Nia Baker remained strong between the pipes stopping all four shots on frame improving her mark to 9-1-0 for the Cougars.
