Agudzi-Addo highlights Barton Wrestlers at Golden Norseman Open #GoBarton
The Barton Community College wrestling team took to the mats for the second time in a two-day span Saturday, competing at the annual Golden Norseman Open held in Miami, Oklahoma.
Fielding just a five manned squad over four different weight classes, sophomore Nathan Agudzi-Addo (285-pounds) was the lone Cougar to secure a victory as Barton manufactured a 1-10 team record.
Following an opening round bye, Agudzi-Addo delivered the lone win of the day with a second round 3:45 fall over Texas Wesleyan's Markiest Wright before dropping his quarterfinal match on a 19-3 tech fall and 13-2 major decision in the backside to Malaki Morales-Perez of York College.
Unable to notch a victory but competing over the morning was Kaden Foster (157-pounds), Alonso Frances-Aguilar (165-pounds), Kamden Wise (165-pounds) and Edgar Duarte Quiroz (184-pounds).
Wrestling unattached was Bryson Parker (133-pounds), Matthew Cook (149-pounds) and Colin Little (149-pounds).
Barton will step back into dual play Tuesday night traveling to Goodland, Kansas for the final two conference duals of the season against Cloud County Community College and host No. 5 Fort Hays Tech Northwest with action slated to get underway at 5:00 p.m. CST.
