Barton Wrestling drops dual at No. 8 Pratt #GoBarton

The Barton Community College wrestling team dropped its conference dual 36-9 at No. 8 Pratt Community College Tuesday night at the Dennis Lesh Sports Arena.

Now 1-2 on the season, Barton travels Chanute, Kansas, next Tuesday for a conference dual with a pair of teams tied for 11th in nation, Northwest Kansas Technical College and host Neosho County Community College.

Victories were slim on the night with two coming in the dual by Drew Burgoon and Stephen Duffy with Anthony Mariche earning a pair of victories in the exhibition matches.

Burgoon moved to 3-0 on the early season of the 141 division, defeating Pratt's Jacob Mitchell on a 7-6 decision while Duffy improved to 2-1 by picking up a 5:13 injury win over the Beavers' Taidon Wills in the 165 division.

Mariche wrestled two matches on the night, improving to 3-0 in his 125 division exhibition tangles. Mariche took care of Luke Rider on a 15-3 major decision then pinned Moo Soe with a second period fall.
