Barton stifles Pratt in 30-18 victory
Forfeiting two weight classes in each of their three duals Tuesday at the Barton Gym, the No. 19 ranked Barton Community College Wrestling team opened up the second annual Cougars Duals surrendering just six points the rest of the way earning a 30-18 victory over Pratt Community College.

The Cougars found themselves trailing 15-0 as the result of forfeits at the 125 and 141 weight classes. No. 6 ranked Caysen Smith found himself trailing 6-0 after the first period but after escaping the down position to begin the second was taken down by the Beavers' Demone McClinton setting the tone for the 10-5 loss.
Barton dominated the next two matches with Sean Taborsky earning a 1:46 fall at the 149 division with Christian Rivas following it up with an 8-1 win and Kendall Biddle taking the 165 with a 5-3 decision to cut the Beaver lead to three. David Kelly then gave Barton the lead in the with a 2:36 fall in the 174 but James Ellis put a temporary halt to the Cougars eighteen point run rallying for a late third period point to send the match to extra time where he took down Devon Baker for the 9-7 184 pound victory knotting things up at nineteen.
Ethan Dean received a forfeit win in the 197 with No. 8 ranked Brix Brickey putting the nail in the Beavers' coffin with a 1:13 pin giving Barton the 30-18 victory.
