6th ranked Barton women's golf wins by forty-one in capturing fourth victory closing out fall schedule #GoBarton

The 6th ranked Barton Community College women's golf team wrapped up the fall portion of their schedule Tuesday in Enid, Oklahoma, chalking up their fourth victory in six meets by running away with the Ranger Invitational title by forty-one strokes.

The Cougars posted a 42-over 330 in Monday's opening round, returning to the Meadowlake Golf Course on Tuesday to add fourteen strokes to its lead despite cooler temperatures and tougher pin placements in locking down a 30-over 318. Atop the team lead in all categories but the par-4s, Barton's 72-over 648 total surpassed the 113-over 689 posted by Northwestern Oklahoma State in the five team runner-up placing.

Other than the par-4s, Chiang played the rest of the holes at 1-over, ringing up a tournament leading four birdies in posting consistent 77 and 78 rounds finishing at 11-over 155.

Saya Schweitzer, who had three previous top-five finishes in the fall, added another by carding a field tournament low 4-over par 76 for her second runner-up placing of the season. Three strokes behind was Pornnapa Inmee in posting an 84 before shaving four strokes off on Tuesday to tie for third with an 80 in compiling a 20-over 164.

Consecutive 84s for a 24-over 168 left Valentina Leyva in sixth place while Andrea Peraza fell one stroke shy of the top ten following 91 and 87 rounds for an 11th place tie at 34-over 178.

Leading the individualist was Paulina Villavicencio just one stroke back at 35-over 179 in carding 91 and 88 rounds for a 13th place tie. Allyson Kaiser carded consistent 99 and 98 rounds for a 53-over 197 in finishing tied for 19th while Katina Bartel placed in a 26th place tie at 64-over 208 following 105 and 103 rounds.

The Cougars have an approximate four month off-season before focusing on conference play and making a run for its 12th straight national tournament appearance.
