In what started as a beautiful day for the third KJCCC Women's Golf Meet of the season, three holes into the afternoon Mother Nature came riding into Dodge City bringing cold and windy conditions across the Mariah Hills Golf Course.  Surviving the day at the top was the Lady Cougars of Barton Community College carding a season high 381 score in holding a slim four stroke edge over host Dodge City Community College and a twenty stroke lead over Coffeyville Community College.  The teams will return to the course bright and early on Friday teeing off with expected low-40s temperature and 10mph wind at 9:00 a.m. for the final nine holes of the meet.

Mackenzie Fabrizius leads the Lady Cougars in third place after the first day carding a 90 as Barton's No. 1 player and nationally third ranked Peerada Piddon struggled throughout the day posting a career high 91.

The Dodge City duo of Orakorn Thirayatorn and Rachanok Rahulpan lead the fifteen player field with Thiraytorn holding a ten stroke lead firing an incredible 79.

Kendra Jellison sits in the seventh spot with a 99 while Miranda Kern is two strokes back carding a 101 for the ninth placing.

Janae Champlin rounded out the Barton team members with a 109 while individualists Olivia Neuenswander was one stroke better at 108 with Taylor Becker finishing with a 118.
