Barton women’s golf keeps title hopes alive with conference victory

Having fell just three strokes shy of pulling off a rally in its previous conference meet, the Barton Community College women's golf team led from start to finish the last two days winning the fifth KJCCC Meet of the season by twenty-one strokes. Leading by thirteen after the first nine holes at Dodge City's Mariah Hills Golf Course, the Cougars extended the margin Monday taking the top two individual placings finishing with four in the top ten. Barton finished with a 514 combined score while the hometown Conquistadors of Dodge City Community College finished with 535. The Cougars' victory snaps Dodge City's four meet win streak and sets up a showdown for a title in the final conference meet of the season April 15-16 at Great Bend's StoneRidge Country Club Golf Course.
