Barton women’s golf team in eleventh place after day one of NJCAA National Championships, Teeratrakul in fourteenth
The Region VI Champion Barton Community College women’s golf team began play today at the NJCAA Women’s Golf National Championship held at the LPGA International Golf Club in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Lady Cougars are in eleventh place after day one with a sixty-nine over par 357 with three remaining days of competition. Freshman Natthakan Teeratrakul leads Barton tied for fourteenth overall firing an 80 after closing the back nine with a 38. Kaylee Crawford put together two solid nines to finish tied for fifty-second with a 91 while Blakelee Cooper finished strong to come in one stroke behind at 92 to tie for fifty fifth place. Kara Koepplin rounded out the team score with a consistent 47 to finish at 94 to tie for sixtieth overall while freshman Madison Walden ran into some troubles on the back nine to finish in eighty-third place with a 101. Fellow freshman Abbie Thelen competed as an individual shooting a consistent 50 on both nines in her national debut to finish tied for eightieth.

Having the afternoon tee times on Monday, the Lady Cougars will have the early tee times on Tuesday beginning on the back nine at 7:00 a.m. Central Time.
