Barton women's bowling finishes fourth at NJCAA Championships; Bridges becomes program's third All-America #GoBarton

A few breaks here and there, and hardware would have returned back to the hill but overall, it was another successful trip for the Barton Community College women's bowling team finishing fourth at the NJCAA National Championships held this past weekend at the Royal Scot Lanes in Lansing, Michigan.

Jasmine Bridges led a four pack of Cougars finishing inside the top-20 while becoming the third different Cougar to garner All-America honors as the sophomore finished eighth overall in the 97-participant field with a tournament total 2,142.

Compiling the third best pin count of 7.720 over three single, three doubles and three team games, Barton begin Saturday's final day action in hardware contention before ultimately dropping a spot in the final three team and trio of baker blocks concluding with the fourth best three-day total 11,645.

Claiming the team title was Rock Valley College accumulating a best mark of 12,233 while Hawkeye Community College finished runner-up with 11,925 pins and Iowa Western Community College rounding out the top-three with 11,754.

Jasmine Bridges, All-America Despite compiling the team's fourth highest and 26th best 519 pin count in Thursday's opening singles event, Bridges produced her climb over the final six team games split between Friday and Saturday eclipsing the 200-mark in three of the six games with a best single game 230 in Friday's second match.

After recording the 8th highest three game singles score of 561, Allyson Heidenreich sustained the hot hand for Barton teaming up with Jaden Rabe for the 4th highest three game doubles score of 1,047 while staying steady over the final six games producing a 16th place 2,051, edging out Chailyn Scott's 17th place 2,021 total.

Olivia Oliver rounded out the top-20 placings for the Cougars carding a 12-game 2,008 landing 19th overall.

Barton will conclude its season this Saturday and Sunday after the Lady Cougars received the program's first bid to the Intercollegiate Team Championships Sectional Qualifier held at the USA Super Bowl in Dallas, Texas.
