Barton Bowling completes Jayhawk Challenge #GoBarton

Back on the lanes for the fourth straight weekend; the Barton Community College bowling teams produced mixed results this past weekend at the Jayhawk Challenge.

Competing against another stout field featuring some of the region's top tier programs, the learning curve continued for the Cougar squads as the the Barton women returned home in 12th while their countaerparts the Cougar men conducted a 10th place finish.

Women's Recap
On the women's side, the Lady Cougars accounted for a 6,428-pin count over five individual games and 16 bakers falling just outside the top-10 with a 12th place outing.

Earning the team title was Wichita State University outlasting the field of 18 with a best score of 7,509. William Penn University notched the runner-up spot with a pin count of 7,240.

Leading the women's team was Courtney Kitchen securing a 10th place finish with 916 pins over her five tossed games in the field of 150 participants.

Men's Recap
The Cougar men destroyed 7,303 pins in the two-day event featuring five team and 16 baker games falling just 161 shy of ninth place William Penn University in the field of 18 teams.

Securing the team title on the men's side was Wichita State University calculating a total mark of 8,653 edging out cross town rival Newman University's score of 7,924.

Individually Bryce Moore paced the Barton men with an 11th place finish in the field of 208 totaling a five game score of 1,000 falling just four pins of a top-10 finish.

The Cougars will conclude the first half of the season this weekend at the Bronco Open held Saturday and Sunday at the Pastime Lanes in Hastings, Nebraska.
