Barton Bowling results at Bronco Open

The Barton Community College bowling teams capped the fall portion of the schedule this past weekend at the Bronco Open held in Hastings, Nebraska. The Cougar women concluded the two-day event with a sixth place finish while their counterparts fell two spots back on the men's side turning in an eighth place performance.

Barton will enjoy the holiday break before kicking off the second half of the schedule on January 22nd, 2022 at the SWIBC V held at the USA Super Bowl in Dallas, Texas. The Cougars will conclude the Texas two-swing at Sunday's SWIBC VI at the Plano Super Bowl in Plano, Texas.

Women's Recap
The Cougar women concluded Saturday's six-team games in fifth place tallying 4298 pins trailing fourth place rivals Iowa Western Community College by 304 pins while host Hastings College led the eight team field with 4801.

In Sunday's portion, Barton slipped a spot back in the final standings knocking down a two-day total 6498 pins just 136 back of fifth place Peru State College. Claiming the team title was Morningside College with a total pin count of 7409.

Individually Casey Feast led seven Cougars rolling to a seventh place finish in the 49-participant field tipping down 960 pins over her six-games tossed.

Brecken Philbrick tossed the top two scores for Barton with games of 179 and 177 in her five games rolled finishing with a 26th place and score of 739.

Men's Recap
On the men's side the Cougars tossed to a seventh place finish in Saturday's six team games with a score of 4882 trailing fifth place Kansas State University by 88 pins while host Hastings College led the 10-team field with a total of 5408.

Sunday's 16-baker games was unfriendly to the Cougars as the squad dropped a spot in the final standings turning in a tournament total of 7377 pins falling just 29 pins back of sixth place Missouri Valley.

Hastings College fought off late surges by runner-up Peru State College and third place Iowa Western Community College with a tournament score of 8289.

Leading the seven pack of Cougars individually was Andrew Harden's 19th place finish tallying a six round score of 10002. The freshman averaged a 167 score with his highest game score coming in the final game with a 210.

Freshman Preston Miller finished with a 26th place outing while leading Barton in average scoring with a 173 score over his five games rolled and final pin count of 863. Griffin Peterson turned in the highest round for the Cougars in his first of four games tossed with a 216.
