Women's Basketball player Jenny Nkem Womsi - Week fourteen KJCCC Player of the Week

Jenny Nkem Womsi of the Barton Community College women's basketball team was named the regular season finale' KJCCC player of the week award winner.

Womsi posted her 13th double-double of the year in last week's regular season finale victory over Dodge City helping the Cougars secure the fourth seed and first round bye in the Region VI Tournament. Shooting 70% from the floor, Womsi finished with 14 points and hauled down a game high 11 rebounds in Barton's 15-point second half comeback against the Conquistadors.

The award is the third for Womsi after winning two straight in week six and seven including the NJCAA Division I Player of the Week.

Having earned the first round bye of the Region VI Tournament, Womsi and the 4th seeded Cougars are back on the hardwood tonight in quarterfinal action hosting 5th Cowley College in a 6:00 p.m. tip at the Barton Gym. The victor advances to the semifinal round on Friday held at Salina's Tony's Pizza Event Center.
