Barton women hold on in Dodge City earning fourth straight victory #GoBarton

A four-point fourth quarter difference Saturday afternoon provided the margin needed as the Barton Community College women's basketball team edged out a 51-47 road victory over Dodge City Community College.

Winners of four straight, the Cougars conclude the first path through the Jayhawk Conference at 7-5 and improve their season mark to 10-8 on the season while the Conquistadors drop to 5-5 in KJCCC play and 10-6 on the season.

Barton will complete its' brief two-game road trip on Monday at Garden City Community in a 5:30 p.m. tip before returning home next Saturday in a 2:00 p.m. tip against Cowley College.

Eighth Cougars landed in the scoring column with Brennan Kirchhoff leading the way for Barton adding 11 of her team high 13 points in the second half while adding six rebounds. Acorionna Lard dished out a team leading four assists while adding nine behind 3-of-8 shooting from outside. Mikaela Hall hauled in a team leading nine rebounds off the bench to go along with her six first half points.

Dodge City's Krystina Hagood led all scorers with 17 points while teammate Bree Stephens posted the lone double-double hauling down a game high 14 rebounds to go along with her 14 points on 6-of-17 shooting.
