Barton Women ride strong first half in road victory at NW Tech; Coach Clark becomes second winningest coach in program history #GoBarton

The Barton Community College women's basketball team rode a season high scoring output Saturday night at the Max Jones Fieldhouse in Goodland, KS earning a 98-86 victory over Northwest Kansas Technical College.

The victory moves the Cougars back to .500 in conference play at 5-5 and improve to 8-8 overall while the Mavericks remain searching for their first conference victory falling to 0-10 in conference play and 2-12 overall.

Barton's next contest comes Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. in hosting Colby Community College before concluding the first trip around the Jayhawk Conference on Saturday at Dodge City Community College in a 1:00 p.m. start time.

Leading 10 different scorers and five in double-digits was Lili Shubert's career high 20-point night behind 7-of-9 shooting including a perfect 2-of-2 from outside. Posting her sixth straight collegiate double-double was Jenny Nkem Womsi pulling down a game high 12 rebounds to go along with her 15 points. Morgan Meyers and Alissa Heskamp each added 12 points combining for a 5-of-7 shooting performance from long distance while Acorionna Lard added eight of her 11 points in the final quarter.

Head Coach Alan Clark became the second all-time winningest coach in Barton history notching his 103rd victory at the helm passing Don Calvert's 102 victories.

Six different Mavericks finished in double figure scoring with Fanta Daffe and Alonna Harvey-Williams each tallying 16 points. Tyia Treleaven hauled in a team tying four rebounds to go along with her 15 points. Kanda Diop and Moniek Meeringa adding 11 a piece with Neylan Delicado rounding out the Northwest Tech double-digit scoring with 10 points.
