Barton women picked third in Jayhawk West
The Barton Community College women's basketball team has been predicted to finish third in the Jayhawk West for the 2020-21 season according to the league member coaches' voting.
A memorable run through the 2020 Region VI playoffs ended in the Championship game for the Lady Cougars, concluding the season with an 18-16 overall record after finishing third in the Jayhawk West at 11-10 for the second consecutive season.
Barton returns four key players including two starters from last year's team as four Lady Cougars earned post-season accolades in returners Vanessa Oduah and Queen Ulabo, to go along with Richelle Turney and D'Shonda Hunt.
Defending conference champion Hutchinson Community College is predicted to defend its Jayhawk West title with Seward County Community College in the second spot.
Barton opens the season Wednesday, January 20, at the Barton Gym before hitting the road for the conference opener at Independence Community College on January 27.
