Barton women wrap up regular season with twenty-one point win over Neosho County; Jellison posts career high double-double

The Barton Community College women’s basketball team closed out the 2017 regular season Monday night with a 91-70 victory over Neosho County Community College. The Lady Cougars jumped out to a 14-2 and never looked back increasing the lead out to sixteen after the first ten minutes to cruise to the victory. Ending the Panthers regular season at 10-20 and 7-19 in conference play, Barton concludes the regular season at 16-14 while its 13-13 conference mark to finish the Jayhawk grind earned the Lady Cougars another game on the L.T. and Sheila Fleske Court in hosting a first round Region VI playoff game on Thursday. In a 5:30 p.m. tip-off with free admission and $1 hot dogs, the Lady Cougars will host the 28-1 Lady Mavericks of Northwest Kansas Technical College for the right to advance to Monday’s 3:00 p.m. quarterfinal round at Park City’s Hartman Arena.
