Barton women's basketball announces in-state 2016 signing class

The Barton Community College women's basketball program under first year head coach Alan Clark announces additional Kansas signings for the 2016 Lady Cougar season.  Joining already announced Lauren Welsch of Great Bend High School, will be Jordan Clouse of Riley County High School, Ashley Holler of Moundridge High School, and Lincoln High School's Grace Walford.

The four will be teamed with Kansas returning sophomores Megan Jirak and Regan Unruh, as well as, returning Memphis products Alexus Bryson and Jalisa Jones.  The Lady Cougars will also be bolstered by the return of Dodge City's Katrina Roenfeldt coming off a medical redshirt sophomore season and standout Memphis redshirt freshman Oreona Brown.  Michigan's Keanna Craig will also be returning but will be sitting the season on the sidelines rehabilitating an injury.   Coach Clark is expected to announce out-of-state signings for the season at a later date.  

A two-time All-League selection, Clouse averaged 10.3 points and 3.5 assists per game as the 5'8" Riley County guard finished her career being chosen to both the North Central Kansas All-Star and Central Kansas All-Star selection games.

"Jordan can score in many ways," said Clark. "She proved in our All-Star game what great range she has, knocking down three's from well beyond the college three point line.  She also can step in and attack the basket with a great cross-over move with strong finishes.  A tremendous person and outstanding teammate, we are very proud Jordan has selected Barton to continue her education and basketball career."

One of the highest scoring combo guards in the state, the 5'7" Holler was a two-time All-State selection who averaged 20.5 points per game her senior year brining a winning pedigree to the Lady Cougars having led her Moundridge team to back-to-back state tournaments.

"Ashley is obviously a very skilled basketball player, but she also possesses those intangible skills that make her a leader and a winner," Clark said.  "A fun young lady to be around, we are very excited that Ashley has chosen Barton."

Adding size in the post at 6'0", Lincoln's Walford averaged 8 points and 8 rebounds per game during her senior season.

"Grace is already a strong rebounder and defender in the post and will develop into a consistent scorer offensively," remarked Clark. "She passes well out of the post which will be a big plus for our shooters.  Another great kid and teammate added to our squad, we couldn't be happier she has chosen Barton to continue her academic and athletic career."
